“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”
— Aristotle
The problem
You meditate 30 days straight, miss one day, and the counter resets to zero. Now you're “starting over” even though you did the thing 30 out of 31 days.
Most trackers reduce your entire month to a single number: your longest streak. But longest streak is the wrong metric. It tells you nothing about why you missed days or what to change next month.
The question isn't “did you do the thing?” The question is “what patterns are hiding in your behavior that you can't see?”
What you get
At the end of every month, we compute metrics from behavioral research — the same kind of patterns a coach would spot, surfaced automatically from your daily check-ins.
On days you meditated, you were 85% more likely to also exercise. Meditation is your keystone — protect it and everything else follows. We find yours automatically.
Your second half of the month was 12% stronger than the first. That direction matters more than your average. Most trackers miss this entirely.
After a missed day, how fast do you get back on track? Average 1.4 days to recover. This number predicts long-term success better than streaks ever could.
You're 92% consistent on Wednesdays but only 41% on Saturdays. Design your week around this, not against it.

Those are great trackers. MarkItDaily is less of a tracker and more of a mirror — the daily check-in is just input, the real value is the monthly report with patterns you can't see day-to-day. We deliberately don't gamify streaks because gamification encourages dishonest check-ins.
You can mark it honestly as “missed” — the app expects this. There's also a separate “skipped” state for genuine reasons (sick, traveling) that doesn't count against your discipline score. You can backfill up to the last 2 days from the dashboard.
Yes. You can rename, archive, or add new actions anytime. Archived actions keep their history, so your report stays honest about what you tracked when.
Your check-in data is yours. You can export everything as JSON from Settings anytime. Delete your account and everything is permanently gone. We don't sell data, there are no ads, and the only third parties involved are Google (for sign-in), Supabase (storage), Resend (emails), and Vercel (hosting).
On the 1st of the month after you've been tracking for at least 10 days. If you sign up late in a month, your first report arrives the following month so it covers a full 30+ days of data.
Six weeks from now, you'll have two reports sitting in your inbox telling you more about your behavior than any streak counter ever has.
